Joel Brown
Joel Brown came to First International Bank & Trust with a wealth of knowledge in the Oil and Gas industry. Joel is a Reservoir Engineer with extensive experience evaluating reserves and production potential in the Rocky Mountain Region with a focus on the Bakken. Joel and his wife Emily are proud to raise the sixth generation of the Brown family to live in McKenzie County. Influenced by a long line of North Dakota oilfield workers, Joel graduated at the top of UND's Petroleum Engineering program's inaugural class in 2013.
Joel has worked in the Oil and Gas industry since he was a teenager when he worked with his father and grandfather in the family business. He has years of experience designing and operating oil wells and managing pipeline systems. However, he has spent most of his career on Acquisition & Divestment teams. Along with helping develop the only Bakken-specific mineral tracking software (MineralTracker), Joel understands reservoir potential and market trends and brings his expertise to FIBT's Mineral and Land Services team. In his role as Mineral Services Manager, he provides mineral owners with a clear picture of their assets, ensuring mineral appraisals are accurate and defensible and, when mineral owners decide to sell, they receive a fair market value.
Joel is an active member of his community and serves as the chair of the McKenzie County Job Development Authority, a board member of the Watford City Rough Rider Fund Committee, the Rough Rider Center Advisory Committee, and the Save the Maah Daah Hey Foundation.
